Acts
Teacher: Won Huh
The book of Acts is a sequel to the Book of Luke and it picks up just where the first book ends - the ascension of Jesus. The whole book of Acts can be summarized with a quote from Jesus, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).
- What was it that “Jesus began to do” (Acts 1:1)? You mean there’s something that Jesus did not complete? Who finishes it?
- Look for the character of God in the workings of the Holy Spirit and in the reflected image of those who have received the “Promise of the Father,” the Holy Spirit.
- Look for the battles between grace and legalism, and inclusiveness and exclusiveness as Christianity takes root. Are we still fighting those battles?
- Unlike Luke's first book, does the sequel end a little abruptly like an unfished story? Why is that?
