Last night before I went to bed I was reading Jeremiah 31 which talks about writing the law in your hearts and I was wondering “how does that happen?” so we will discuss that, but I want to also look at three other things.
I had a patient years ago that lived for 15-20 years in Cairo and we always talked Middle East politics and she said “You have to understand the big stick theory.” So we're going to talk about that in relationship to Jeremiah because I think it's applicable.
Then I want to talk about the person Jeremiah himself and as you read and learn more things about the person Jeremiah pay attention that Jeremiah is a guy that puts his money where his mouth is, so read the last half and you will see a narrative in there where Jeremiah does a very strange thing.
And then of course The Siege of Jerusalem. That'll be the bulk of the second hour of our class because it’s just so rich in archaeology; I could go on forever, but it's just incredible the stuff that you can learn about the archaeology of that siege of Nebuchadnezzar and the previous 3 and rather than just getting down in the weeds, I'm going to get down in the latrine. We may have to cut the video off for that part but the archaeologists have done some research in the latrines that help us understand the siege so that might be a little strange twist to take for Sabbath School class but it's extremely interesting. I’ll try to keep it on the up-and-up but you never know, it might be hevel.
