The Journey - January 11, 2020

Peoples and Places in the Bible (History and Geography)

Teacher: Gordy Gates

The sacred Bridge

God told Abraham: "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you." Genesis 12:1

Biblical writers in both testaments love telling stories. In fact, approximately 1/3 of the first testament and 1/2 of the second testament are stories. These writers know that if they place their message in the context of a story, describing characters, plot, setting and historical time frame, you will more easily be able to remember the message.

That being said, on January 11 we will look at the historical and geographical setting of many of the Biblical narratives to better understand the character of God.
