Daniel 7 - 12

Teacher: Mark Johnson

Next week we continue with the Book of Daniel. Daniel chapters 7 through 12. We as an Adventist church would not be here if it wasn't for the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation, so we’ll talk a bit about our debt to Daniel and Revelation and the continuing beliefs that we have and how they may tie in and if there's any change that we may need to be thinking about keeping up with the revealed truth or present truth. Were we wrong?

We talked in the past about how it's kind of embarrassing to be talking about the end of the world 250 years after the first signs of the end of the world.

We’ll talk a bit about the differences between classical prophecy and apocalyptic prophecy.

Do all prophetic utterances come to their professed end? We've already seen with Jonah that God changed his mind or appears to have changed his mind, although we’re told God doesn't change his mind. So, when somebody predicts that the world will end or that your city will end in fire and then it doesn't what does that mean for prophecy?

We’ll try to struggle again with some of the issues around the prophecy and how it tied in with the beginning of the Adventist Church and what it may mean for us today.
