Isaiah 1 - 28

Teacher: Dee Briggs

Read the first part of Isaiah, chapters 1-28, and write down at least one question or comment to share with the group.

  • Do you think it’s a positive thing, to be considered part of a remnant, especially the remnant?

  • In John 12:37-41, Jesus quoted from both Isaiah 6 and Isaiah 53, indicating that Isaiah the prophet wrote all of the book of Isaiah. Many Bible experts today don’t believe in only one writer and think instead that at least two or even three “Isaiahs” wrote the book over a very long period of time. What do you believe?

  • Compare the vineyard song in Isaiah 5:1-7 with Isaiah 27:2-7. Do you think God’s judgments or chastisements are meant merely to punish, or is the goal more about redemption?

See you next week!
