Resilience
Daniel 7 & 8

Series: Resilience
Message: Patience
Preacher: Japhet De Oliveira

Refresh: Open with prayer. Read or listen to Psalm 16:7-11.

Read: Daniel 7 & 8 - As you read in the NIV translation, note 1-3 insights that arise.

Reflect: Watch how Daniel’s visions are growing a deeper appreciation of Jesus at every level. In Daniel 2 we see Jesus as our King. In Daniel 7, Jesus will judge and restore, and now in Daniel 8 Jesus as our High Priest. More, of course, will arrive in Daniel 9, a few weeks from now. Here is the great insight of the vision. From the table below you can see the way the details are developed. All the time, while we are encouraged to be patient and know that God is seeing the future, drawing us to the realization of the full Kingdom of God. Daniel 8 reminds us further that some are always going to try to hide what Jesus has done, is doing, and will do for us. The Apostle Paul, in Hebrews 8:1,2 wants to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Recalibrate:
How does knowing that God has and never will forget us affect your life today?
God’s kingdom will be based on love, justice and grace; what can we do today to live elements of that?

Respond: Pray for forgiveness and joy in Jesus.

Research: What does it mean that Jesus is our High Priest in heaven today?
